Give yourself a pat on the back...
Jan 29, 2018
So what gets me out of bed in the morning? It’s certainly not the thought of filling out paperwork or sitting in front of a computer! Although this is part of my role at Pro-Action, I get the greatest satisfaction from working directly with members and helping them to recognise the fantastic work they are already doing.
Quality Assurance sounds so dry and a little bit dull to be honest, but in truth it is a great way to give yourself a pat on the back and perhaps even think about areas you would never otherwise consider – after all, it would be impossible to think of everything!
Pro-Action feel passionately that all children and young people’s groups should have achieved some sort of quality assurance, to demonstrate that you know what you are doing and you are working safely. Of our current membership,
- 20 groups have achieved an Ambition Quality First Steps, Bronze, Silver or Gold,
- 11 groups have achieved an alternative quality mark
- 20 groups are currently working towards First Steps or Bronze.
I am sure there are more of you out there who have achieved an award or who are working towards one, so please let us know!
With the added incentive of a Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust grant of £150 or £1000 upon completion of First Steps and Bronze respectively, why not make a start? I would love to come and meet you and assist you through the process. Our members who have achieved the standards have all found the experience beneficial and of course the grants are an added bonus too.
We also practise what we preach and are completing the AQ+ Bronze Award for Pro-Action, which I have been working on behind the scenes.
Together, let’s aim to reach 80 member groups working towards or having achieved a quality mark by March 2018. Go on, get in touch.
