On behalf of the Board of Trustees I regret to inform you that, unfortunately, we have made the very difficult decision to close Pro-Action. The charity will wind down its activities over the next two months and cease to operate on 31st March 2020.
This decision has not been taken lightly. Having reached its 10th anniversary last year, Pro-Action has made a significant difference to Hertfordshire’s voluntary youth sector and to vast numbers of its young people. There is a wealth of expertise and experience within the organisation which, we believe, will be sorely missed. As you know, we have continued to support our members and deliver our services across Hertfordshire through some challenging and difficult times. Like many small charities we have struggled to secure enough funding to sustain the organisation and meet our charitable objectives. With our reserves depleting rapidly and no significant and sustainable funding in the pipeline, sadly, there really is no other course of action open to us. I am very sorry and tremendously disappointed to be in this situation, making this announcement today.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with Pro-Action through the years: our staff - the PA Team, our members, funders, partners, supporters, our Patron, Vice Patron and the Trustees. Pro-Action simply couldn’t have achieved as much as it has without you! Our staff have been incredible through these difficult times; their hard work, commitment and professionalism is very much appreciated, and I wish them well for the future.
If there are any questions, please do refer these to me as Chair, in the first instance and I will deal with them or re-direct them as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time and I fully appreciate your support.
