Safeguarding Policy in Hertfordshire

We have taken one of those practices as our first topic, which is the issue of child protection in the context of recognising and reporting abuse, and how this is approached in Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how the relevant organisations in Hertfordshire will work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children (0 – 18 years) in Hertfordshire, and ensuring that this work is effective.

All agencies in the County who work with Children and young people need to follow the child protection procedures, for more information please contact your Membership Development Officer.

The procedures are not optional and must be followed by all those that provide a service for/ work with/or come into contact with children.

Pro-Action provides high quality Safeguarding Training, both Level 1 & Level 2.  Each provision should have a Designated Person who has attended a Level 1 (Basic) and a Level 2 (Advanced) training. A recommendation is to have 2 Designated staff to ensure that there is always one Designated person available. Click on the links to access the courses.

From time to time we also offer additional training around safeguarding eg  'Helping Young People Stay Safe Online'  as part of our Core Skills training Programme..
