As you know we are facing a challenging period due to loss of funding and therefore potential closure. Due to this uncertainty, whilst managing time frames, we have made the difficult decision to no longer offer our paper DBS facility.

The last date we will be processing DBS’ is 29th March 2019 as we need to ensure they are processed our end, payment has been received and applications sent off to DBS. If you would like to conduct a paper DBS within this time, please get in touch with our Safeguarding & Compliance Lead, Abby Wilkins via email at or our Membership Coordinator, Lucy Ockendon on to arrange a time when we can get the DBS done for you.

It appears that paper DBS’ are not common and there is a real push to conduct your DBS checks online. You can contact your local CVS to get DBS support or sign up to an online provider; one we recommend is, Security Watchdog, part of Capita PLC, which is free to sign up. They use a system called ‘ebulk’ which is very easy to use; they have a help desk which is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and have a knowledge hub that will support you through the DBS application:

We have contacted Hertfordshire County Council, and they do not currently offer any support in this area.
